WINE 7.3 arrives with even more changes than two weeks ago, when all records were broken

WINE 7.3

Just two weeks ago today, when we published the news of the previous development version of this software to run Windows apps on other operating systems, we thought that the number of changes introduced had been outrageous. They doubled the number of fixes made in many of the releases at this stage of development, and we couldn't remember a single time they hit 600 changes. Well, here we are fifteen days later to announce the launch de WINE 7.3 and we have to say that records have been broken again.

In v7.2 they were introduced a total of 643 changes. Today, after mentioning the 15 bugs fixed, further down we can say that a total of 651 changes. This time, the main person responsible for this number of corrections has been Eric Pouech, who has been in charge of 231. We mentioned the same developer two weeks ago, since he also had a lot to do with the high number of tweaks made, but then he remained "only", see quotation marks, 207.

WINE 7.3 highlights

What WineHQ has found most interesting enough to mention in their new highlights list is that they have done more large-scale cleanups to support the "long" type, there is now proper support for API sets, progress has been made in converting USER32 and WineALSA to PE and a number of HID joystick fixes have been introduced. The other novelty that they have mentioned is the usual various bug fixes, where the hundreds mentioned above are.

WINE 7.3 available from this link; the second that WineHQ facilitates, I don't even put it, because it never works for them. In the download page there is information on how to install this and other versions on operating systems such as Debian and Ubuntu, but it can also be installed on Android and macOS.

The next version will be a WINE 7.4 Coming March 11, and bets are accepted: will they go over 600 changes again? Will Pouech be the one to fix many of them? How many? What if this time they reach 700? It may also happen that we return to more normal figures, but to be sure we will have to wait two weeks.
