Thunderbird 115 debuts new Supernova design among its most outstanding novelties

Thunderbird 115 Supernove Design

It's been a while since we expected it and we already have it here. Mozilla's email client is an all-rounder, but it needed a face lift. Those visual tweaks have a name, Supernova, and the interface is more or less what you have in the header screenshot: a more minimalist design that makes it more modern. It is the most outstanding novelty of Thunderbird 115, or rather the only one that we find in the change list.

In the previous link there is a double image that allows us to compare what the new image of Thunderbird 115 with that of v102. Although it can be seen in the screenshot, the logo is still the previous one, or the current one, depending on how you look at it, but the truth is that it is not the new.

This is Supernova of Thunderbird 115

Supernova is the name of the new design, and it includes a simple and dynamic toolbar that presents frequently used and contextual options based on which tab or space is currently active. They have also improved the design of the icons and the color palette, which is noticeable even if we use several monitors with different resolutions.

Another point that improves with Supernova is the Option menu. In addition to having been redesigned to make it faster and easier to navigate, it is now accessible via the keyboard. On the opposite side of the menu we find the mail folders, and now there are also folder modes that can be sorted. In the same part, how labels are displayed has been improved.

The visual improvements would be completed by the new card view, that is, how the views of received messages are displayed, which now try to resemble what we see on mobile devices, contact information, which although Mozilla does not say so, I I also think that they have been based on smartphone applications, and the calendar.

Regarding other novelties, Mozilla has not provided further details, so we can assume that the redesign is the only novelty of Thunderbird 115, which from what has been seen is not little.

Thunderbird 115 can now be downloaded from your official website.
