This is Whonix, one of the safest operating systems out there

Since cases like Edward Snowden came to light, there are more and more users obsessed with security on their computers, since they want to navigate without anyone knowing what they are doing. To meet the demand of these users comes Whonix, an operating system that has been defined many times as obsessive with the issue of security.

This Debian and Tor based operating system it is very different from what we are used to. This system combines technologies such as virtualization, the Onion routing system (that of Tor) and demilitarization (isolated) of important applications for the user.

Whonix is actually divided into two machines. On the one hand you have the «Workstation» machine, a machine isolated from the internet to be able to work safely and on the other hand the "gateway" machine, a machine that is only there to serve as a gateway to the "Workstation" machine, that is, to provide an internet connection in case of need.

Whonix is almost 100% safe as the «Workstation» machine passes all data packets through the Tor system to ensure anonymity. Also, when using a machine as a gateway, if someone tries to attack you, at most they can reach the "Gateway" machine, leaving the other completely safe.

Also when using virtual machines, it is guaranteed that the real machine take no harm, something that will prevent damage to your computer if you download a suspicious file from the famous "Deep Web".

This operating system remember others like TailsHowever, this is still safer for the reasons already mentioned above.

The project is currently in English, however, a user is working on the translation into Spanish so that we can all enjoy this operating system in our language. In addition, that user is collaborating with the creator of Whonix to try to add even more improvements to this operating system. The user is a self-taught expert on security and penetration issues, specializing especially on the subject of Tor and the Deep Web.

If you want to download Whonix, please do so through this link, in which you can download tboth the «Workstation» version and the «Gateway» version. Obviously you also need a virtual machine program, such as VirtualBox or KVM. It also works in conjunction with the operating system Whats OS.

Hello. Your blog works extremely slow for me and the Firefox browser slows me down a lot (more than five minutes to write this message). It doesn't always happen to me but it is becoming more and more frequent. I just wanted to tell you before I permanently delete you from my blog list. All the best.

Interesting, but I'm sure that if you don't have considerable bandwidth the system is practically unusable.
