Manjaro 20.0.1 released with Linux 5.6.6 and packages updated to the latest versions

manjaro 20.0.1

Two weeks after Lysia's arrival, the developer team has released manjaro 20.0.1, the first maintenance update in this series. Taking into account that only two weeks have passed, this release has not included many outstanding news, but some interesting updates such as the latest versions of packages and software such as Thunderbird or the graphical environments in which this famous Linux distribution is available.

As always when possible, they have taken the opportunity to update the kernel, but to go from a younger Linux 5.6 to a more advanced version of the same series with fewer bugs such as Linux 5.6.6. As a matter of fact, Manjaro also supports other versions of the kernel, such as a Linux 5.7-rc4 that until yesterday was the newest version of the Linux kernel. Below you have the list of news that they have mentioned in the information note for this release.

Highlights of Manjaro 20.0.1 Lysia

  • Most of the kernels have been updated, the most modern stable being Linux 5.6.6.
  • Systemd is now at v245.5.
  • The KDE-git packages have been updated.
  • Thunderbird is now at v68.8.0.
  • Pamac 9.5 has been released and included.
  • Deepin has been updated to the v20 series.
  • Some of your browsers have been updated: Firefox 76.0.1 2, Firefox-Dev 77.0b3, Palemoon 28.9.3.
  • The usual updates.

Manjaro uses the development model known as Rolling Release, which means that after a first installation, we will receive updates for life. Therefore, new ISOs are only for zero installations and everything mentioned above will appear as updates to existing users. The version with the GNOME graphical environment is now available at this link, while the rest will upload them in the next few hours. The next version will already be a Manjaro 21 whose code name will start with M and should be released this summer, in June to be more specific.
