On November 7th, the developer team behind one of the best software drawing tools released Krita 5.1.3. The previous version was the 5.1.1, but that there is a dance of figures is not at all strange; Krita is available in various stores, like the Play Store or the Microsoft Store, and sometimes they return a version because something is out of compliance. In this case it has not been like that, but v5.1.2 did reach Google Play, so the next thing was the current 5.1.3.
The number jump this time was due to Krita 5.1.2 I had a bug that needed to be fixed, on all platforms except Android. With the problem already patched, Krita 5.1.3 has arrived as a maintenance release, correcting the bugs that have been detected in the last two months. In total, the list of new features includes 49 changes, most of them marked as "fix".

Of the changes that have arrived together with Krita 5.1.3, it strikes me that there is several points dedicated to the JPEG-XL format. It is not that it is anything strange, in fact it is normal that they focus on formats like this one that is relatively new, but this affection contrasts with that of Google, who is planning to remove support for this format in your web browser. Perhaps they know something that the rest of us do not know, but the different way of dealing with things by one and the other has caught my attention, although it is also true that we are talking about different types of software.
As for the version that was released on Monday, and they have announced today:
Today we release Krita 5.1.3. This is a strictly bug fix release, but we recommend the upgrade to everyone. There are also performance improvements because we have updated some of the libraries that we use. Please note that we have jumped to 5.1.2 due to a last minute bug fix (with the exception of Android, where we are still on 5.1.2 due to signing issues, and thus bugs 461436 and 459510 are still standing. They will be corrected in the next version).
This latest version of Krita is available from your official website, and at any moment it will arrive in the official repositories of most Linux distributions. Also available as a package flatpack y snap (the last one without updating).
