Debian 12.1 arrives with the first security fixes and other patches

Debian 12.1

On June 10, Project Debian He launched a new version of your operating system. Debian 12 It carries the code name of Bookworm, and among its novelties it introduced the Linux 6.1 LTS kernel and more up-to-date desktops such as GNOME 43 and Plasma 5.27. It will be supported for 5 years, and in that period of time they will launch new ISOs with all the new features that have been released. A few hours ago they have already launched the first one, but it is only for new installations.

Project Debian has taken care, as always, to make it clear that Debian 12.1 is not a new version of the operating system, so no need to reinstall from scratch. All updates included in the 12.1 ISO are already available on existing installations, and it is only recommended to download these images for clean installations or reinstalling the operating system. Downloading 12.0, after the installation you would have to reinstall all the updates.

Debian 12.1 includes security patches and other fixes

This new ISO mainly includes fixes for security bugs and some other tweaks to profile the software at the heart of the operating system. Applications and other packages that are not part of the original system are updated separately.
