Zellij: new terminal multiplexer written in Rust

Many people settle for the terminal emulator for their desktop environment. On the other hand, they are more and more than for convenience or due to the characteristics of the administration that they carry out on a daily basis, they need more than that and they install a terminal multiplexer like Zellij. An interesting new project written in Rust.

El Mozilla's programming language is all the rage, and already many see it as the new C. In addition, it is very interesting from the point of view of security. Therefore, the fact that it could be used in certain parts of the Linux kernel has even been debated. And it is increasingly present in projects like this ...

Another of its most notable characteristics is that it has a design system and accessories that can be added and that can be created in any language that can be compile with WebAssembly.

Well, Zellij, in addition to using that language, also gives you a great workspace from the terminal and multiplexer, how do tmux and the like do it. In addition, it is available for both macOS and GNU / Linux operating systems, although at the moment it is in Beta state.

However, it's functional and can be used for day to day. Only you have to have some patience if eventually there are any problems. In addition, there are also some features that have not been implemented yet, and that I hope will be included soon.

As for the its Zellij user interface, it is very easy to use, lightweight, and has a status bar in the lower area with available keyboard shortcuts and tips on how to use the tool, although it can be deactivated if you want and is present as one more complement.

Finally, Zellij has tried to innovate to distance himself from other similar projects, and offers a how to organize and resize panels interesting. The app itself will find the best vertical or horizontal division distribution for you. You will also not have limitations when it comes to changing the size of the spaces.
