Ubisoft Rainbow Six Siege support with Proton?

Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft

Ubisoft is moving, and it's doing it for the good of gamers on the Linux platform. In one of his forums he has suggested Proton support for his successful title Rainbow Six Siege. Thanks to the latest developments, as we already discussed in LxA, making video games use BattlEye for the anti-cheat system in Linux is much easier. That's why a representative from Ubisoft has suggested this ...

Apparently, this could have been a 'call' for other players to respond and show their support, and given enough support, it would move to Ubisoft developers getting down to business creating an implementation with support for Proton. However, you have to remain calm, because this is not a warning that they are going to start working on Rainbow Six Siege from now on, nor that it will arrive in the future, but at least it will be taken into account and there is the possibility of that of its fruits.

One thing in its favor is the Steam Deck, which is attracting the attention of many developers, including Ubisoft. And it is that, to give support in Linux with Proton for Rainbow Six Siege could be used for two objectives. One to let Linux players have access to this title and on the other hand also that it is used in SteamOS 3, the operating system of Valve's portable game console. But this will also depend on the demand for the Steam Deck and if it turns out to be a success or failure like the Steam Machine.

On the other hand, as it has been known through social networks, it seems that Ubisoft could also bring more of its titles to the platform Valve Steam, which does not mean that they are available for Linux far from it, but it is an indication of interest.
