MailSpring a fork of Nylas Mail

mailspring mail

This time I will take the opportunity to talk to you about MailSpring which is an email client free multiplatform that born as a fork of Nylas Mail which had an excellent, fairly clean interface and from my point of view one of the best in terms of email clients.

mailspring It emerged as a project by Ben Gotow who was one of the developers of Nylas, who decided to go the way on his own, believing that he can be the best customer.

Although Mailspring is a fork of Nylas Mail used a cloud-based sync engine. The application was almost totally rewritten since several aspects of it were improved, from the changing the engine from JavaScript to C ++, which improved the processing speed.

We can also highlight that the client was built through web technologies (Electron, Flux, React) with what offers to be faster when synchronizing your emails, using 50% less RAM than Nylas Mail.

Download Mailspring

As I mentioned, the application is multiplatform so we can download the client for Linux, Mac or Linux. We can do this from its official website I leave the link here.

Install Mailspring on Debian and derivatives

We also have the application packaged in a deb file with which we can install the client in any distribution based on Debian / Ubuntu, you just have to download it from this link and install it with our package manager.

Install Mailspring on Fedora and derivatives

In the case of Fedora and its derivatives there is also the rpm package which we install with our package manager, the link of download is this.

Install Mailspring on Linux using Snap

In the case of the other distributions, you should not worry since the application also exists in a snap package so we can install from here.

Without further ado, although there are various email clients from my experience with N1 (Nylas), it should be noted that it is one of those with a very well designed interface.

If you know any other client that is worth talking about, do not hesitate to share it with us.
