The market share of operating systems on the desktop, on mobile devices, in the mainframe sector, or servers and supercomputing is quite well known, we have already covered these topics in previous LxA articles. However, what about the segment of Smart TV operating systems?

  6. chromecast it is the next most used, with 3.1%. In this case there is also a Linux kernel, since it is a simplified ChromeOS, according to Google.
  7. The next in contention is Apple tv OS, a XNU, with a 2.7% share.
  8. Later would come Firefox OS, used by 1.6 ″ of the gadgets, with Linux kernel as well.
  9. The remaining 43.9% is made up of an agglomerate of other operating systems, mostly also based on Linux (MeeGo, Ubuntu TV, Huawei HarmonyOS, Xiaomi PatchWall,…).
