More than two weeks have passed since the first maintenance update for the Linux Kernel 5.0 series was released, so its next update is near, Linux Kernel 5.1, and the development cycle has started with the presentation of the first compilation candidate for final (RC) available for public testing.
La first RC build of Linux Kernel 5.1 it is a bit long compared to Linux 5.0 and according to Linus Torvalds it is more than 60% updated on drivers for graphics cards, networking, locking devices, as well as system and kernel files.

Linux Kernel 5.1 is coming in May 2019
The final Linux Kernel 5.1 release is expected to arrive in May 2019, either on May 5 if the development cycle only has seven RCs released or on May 12 if Linus decides eight RCs are needed for the community to have a stable release.
