LibreOffice 5.4.3 released with more than 50 bugs removed

LibreOffice 5.x (Writer)

The community continues to develop the fantastic LibreOffice office suite. Now they have lAncing LibreOffice 5.4.3, a new improvement implemented in this maintenance update after 5.4.2 that appeared 5 weeks ago and also belongs to this 5.4 branch. The free and open source suite is available for various platforms, as you well know, not just for GNU / Linux. In this new release, the developers have mainly been working on improving and correcting some existing problems in previous versions, rather than trying to add new functionalities.

In the LibreOffice 5.4.2 version, numerous bugs and bugs were discovered that have been solved with this release. Specifically more than 50 bugs have been removed. Specifically, if we take a look at the changelog we see that 52 corrections have been made in this new release and that they affected several of the components of this suite. In addition, some of its developers have also left comments in the media indicating that version 5.4.4 will come in mid-December of this year.

We will wait to see what the new version has in store for us and I hope it comes with even more improvements. At the moment we can install LibreOffice 5.4.3 version while we wait for the next release. On the other hand, we have to take into account that two more releases will follow this one, LibreOffice 5.4.5 and 5.4.6 expected for February and May 2018 respectively. Remember that these maintenance updates for branch 5.4 will continue to be released until June 2018, at which point they will cease to focus on new branches of development.

If you are interested, you can now download it from different websites, although I always advise discarding the programs from the official website of the project or developer, since not only is it safer, but we also have a multitude of information about releases, manuals, online documentation, etc. By the way, The Document Foundation also plans to work hard to LibreOffice 6.0 in January 2018...

Since version 5.4. From now on it is not possible to read documents saved on a CD, as it could be done in previous versions. The document can be copied and opened when it is on the hard disk, but it cannot be opened while it is on the CD. Could it be that they are thinking of eliminating the cdrom, as the diskette was deleted? Everything else is fine, but I have to open windows to read what I have saved in cd.
