Finally the update of December applications developed by the KDE project "KDE Applications 19.12" where previously requests were delivered in the form of a set of KDE applications updated three times a year, but now monthly reports on simultaneous updates to individual programs will be released.
In total, as part of the December update, versions of more than 120 programs, libraries and plugins were released.
KDE Applications 19.12 Key New Features
In this new version of KDE Applications 19.12 one of the components that received improvements it's the music player Elisa, whose developers tried to implement the recommendations for visual design of multimedia players developed by the KDE VDG working group.
In the new issue, the interface has been adapted for displays with a high pixel density (High DPI), in addition to the fact that the integration was improved with other KDE applications and support for the KDE global menu was added, it also received file indexing improvements and it was added support for internet radio.
Calligra
Formerly known as KPlan, the new update allows coordinating the execution of tasks, determine dependencies between work in progress, plan execution time, track the status of different stages of development and manage resource allocation when developing large projects.
Gantt charts can be used to plan and coordinate the execution of tasks (each task is presented in the form of a strip oriented along the time axis). The new version adds support for project templates, the ability to move tasks in drag and drop mode and copy tasks or data from tables via clipboard, a separate menu for settings has appeared and automatic scheduling has been proposed based on priorities set for tasks.
Kdenlive
The publisher received in this new update of KDE Applications 19.12 audio enhancements, an interface for mixing sounds. A visual indicator of a sound clip has been proposed in the clip tracking interface and project tree, simplifying the soundtrack synchronization with changing images. Fixed issues leading to high memory consumption. Improved thumbnail recording for sound files.
KDE Connect
The mobile application has been updated and received the resumption of support for reading and sending SMS from a computer, saving all correspondence history (a separate mobile application has been prepared to access SMS).
Added support for controlling volume level general in the system, a presentation control mode was also implemented.
Dolphin
Dolphin added the ability to browse through history visits to directories that have been opened several times (the interface is opened by pressing the icon with an arrow). Changed the function of viewing recently opened or saved files.
Also received improved functions related to file preview before opening them. Support has been added for previewing GIF files, via selecting them and hovering over the preview pane. In the preview pane the ability to play video and sound files was added.

The screenshot creation utility Spectacle simplified area selection on touchscreens Using checkpoints, it implemented an animated progress indicator and added an automatic recording feature useful when creating a large number of screenshots.
Tools for importing and exporting photos from external storage were added to the Gwenview image viewer, performance of working with external images was improved, and a compression level for JPEG appeared when saving images after editing.

Finally, this new update will be arriving gradually to different Linux distributions. But also different components can be tested separately with the help of the technology of Flatpak packages.
