GNOME 3.30 Gets Its First Maintenance Update, Ready for Mass Installations

GNOME 3.30

The GNOME project announced the immediate availability of the first maintenance update for the GNOME 3.30 graphical environment.

GNOME 3.30.1 is the first security and stability update for GNOME 3.30 and brings with it many improvements, bug fixes, and updated translations for many essential components and applications, making GNOME 3.30 ready for mass installations.

One of the things that does not come with GNOME 3.30.1 is the GNOME Shell update, which is not included due to many bugs and problems in the initial release, which until now have not been resolved, so it is recommended to install the patches separately.

"GNOME 3.30.1 is available now. This is a stable update that contains the work of three weeks. Since it only contains bug fixes, all GNOME 3.30 distributions should be updated,”Mentions Michael Catanzaro on the team mailing list.

GNOME 3.30.2 is coming October 24, 2018

GNOME 3.30 will receive one more maintenance and security update, GNOME 3.30.2 expected to arrive on October 24, 2018. The bad news is that it will be the last maintenance update, although many components will continue to receive updates for six more months, until the arrival of GNOME 3.32.

Until then, we recommend that users upgrade to GNOME 3.30.1 as soon as the packages reach the official repositories of their distributions. Those who want to compile GNOME 3.30.1 on their own can use the project channel or source packages. All the details of this update can be found in the Official Site.

Excellent contribution, just an observation, you describe yourself as a writer, but writing is an exercise that must be done correctly, and that implies, in addition to an excellent spelling, careful and precise writing, which does not allow wrong interpretations. It is just a comment for all of us to improve, it will never be with the intention of hurting.
