Blender

A few days ago here on the blog we shared the note about the Nvidia integration as Corporate Patron (Corporate Patron) of the Blender Development Fund in which it is represented with a contribution of at least € 120,000 per year.

Now several days later AMD joined the Blender Development Fund program as a main sponsor, in which it contributes with more than 120 thousand euros per year for the development of the free 3D modeling system Blender.

For the part of the funds received it is mentioned that be invested in the overall development of Blender's 3D modeling system, migration to the Vulkan graphics API and providing quality support for AMD technologies.

In addition to AMD, as we mentioned at the beginning NVIDIA and Epic Games have also been among the main sponsors of Blender. Details of NVIDIA and AMD's financial involvement were not disclosed.

While on the side of Epic Games allocated 1.2 million to fund Blender in order to promote the development of "Creative Software Suite Blender" which is a free open source 3D modeling system that provides a complete range of tools that allow artists to create graphics, animations, special effects and games in 3D.

Besides them, Blender also announced the company Embark Studios and Adidas, which entered the categories of "gold" and "silver" sponsors., respectively. Embark Studios will transfer Blender from 30 thousand euros per year and intends to transfer its tools for Blender to the open software category (some Embark tools are already open).

In the long run, Embark Studios plans to switch to using Blender as its 3D software and main environmental. The contribution of Adidas, which uses Blender to solve display problems, will be 12 thousand euros per year.

With the integration of these new members to the list of sponsors for Blender we can see that this has become an important software that companies, producers and designers are beginning to take more into account.
