If you could marry a Linux distribution, what would it be?

What distro would you marry?

Don't ask me why because I don't know. This sleepless morning on Twitter sIt occurred to me to ask If you could marry a Linux distribution, what would it be? And the people answered.

Unfortunately it didn't occur to me to ask the reasons behind the answers. It sure would have been more interesting.

If you could marry a Linux distribution, what would it be?

Debian

I wasn't too surprised that the most voted distro was debian as one of the voters noted, it is a distribution of whose fidelity one can be sure. Not for nothing many Linux distributions are based on it. Debian wants to provide a free software solution for (Almost) everyone. It's almost not their fault but the hardware manufacturers.

It must be said that stability has a price. You will never have the most current packages, however, you will have at your disposal the best that free software has to offer with reasonable assurance that everything will work out.

Debian as a spouse wouldn't let you do anything more than hold hands until you passed the church, but it wouldn't cheat on you with the postman either.

OpenSUSE

Not One option about which there is too much talk, but it has its public. OpenSUSE is the community and general user version of SUSE, the distribution aimed at the corporate market. for the independent company of Linux products in the world.

OpenSUSE has excellent hardware support and its own package manager that works with RPM packages. It comes in two versions, one for periodic updating and another that does so under the Rolling Release mode (permanent update).

As a couple you would be the one who enjoys staying at home watching Netflix and going on vacation every year to the same place.

Fedora

Fedora it is a distribution closely related to Red Hat. Proven Fedora features move to CentOS and then Red Hat. It has desktop, server, cloud, and Internet of Things versions.

Fedora adds innovations, but they are reasonable innovations from a technical point of view. Nothing that generates scandal like Ubuntu or that is simply pretty like Linux Mint.

As a couple she would be the heiress of a royal family, but of a royal family that never appears in gossip magazines due to bedroom scandals.

Red Hat

As the name implies, Red Hat Enterprise Linux es a distribution focused entirely on the corporate market. However, developers or SMEs can freely install it, although it will not have commercial support.

Red Hat is a stable distribution with excellent tools for programmers and system administrators. Being aimed at the corporate public, it cannot be expected to have the most current packages, although it is strong in security and stability.

As a distribution there is nothing that can be said about Red Hat as a couple. On the other hand, if the mother company is owned by IBM and its monopolistic vocation. The Red Hat couple is the one that wants to control absolutely everything, from what school their children go to to what brand of tomato sauce to buy.

Tails

If you don't want traces of what you do, Tails is your distribution. To begin with, it does not install, but works from a flash drive and everything you were doing is erased when you are done. Besides, includes antivirus and tools for safe browsing, sending encrypted emails and private file sharing.

The Tails couple is the one that closes the windows tightly so that the neighbors do not see inside, insists that everyone speak in whispers and only see their phone with their backs against the wall.

Arch Linux

Arch Linux is a highly configurable distro loved by a fairly large minority.. It has a large collection of packages both in its own repositories and in those maintained by the community.

It has a complete manual since it does not come with a graphical installer like the most popular distributions.

We were left out of the post Alpine Linux, MX Linux and the i3 version of Manjaro.
