Some cool productivity apps

Post It

There are many and very good productivity tools for our GNU / Linux environment, too many alternatives that sometimes make it difficult to find the best one or the one that best suits our needs. That is why in this article we present some interesting and more remarkable ones. With them they will make our work easier and increase productivity both at home and in our work, whatever it is. From simple text editors to jot down our notes or task planners, agendas, calendars, etc. And all of them compatible with our favorite operating system ...

Well, the productivity tools that we have selected and featured from LxA are:

  • gnote: it is a clone of the Tomboy application created by Hubert Figuière. It is an open source and Linux app that can be used as a notepad or annotator. It also implements a functionality to generate links similar to that of Wikis to go to other points from the notes or link to websites, contacts, etc.
  • Contact- This is a popular groupware and personal information management software suite for Plasma desktop environments developed by KDE. Undoubtedly a complete and powerful app that uses KParts to integrate various applications for notes, lists, news, email, contacts and calendar.
  • Cat fish: it is a powerful and fast search tool in Linux that can help us locate any file quickly and quickly on our system. It has a simple and intuitive GUI for handling ...
  • Evolution: I don't think you need an introduction like Kontact either. Formerly known as Novell Evolution, it is a free manager of personal information and workgroups like KDE but for GNOME. It also implements apps for email, calendar, agenda, to-do list, etc., and all with a nice graphical interface.
  • freeplane: is a free application to create mental or conceptual maps, that is, diagrams for our tasks and their hierarchical organization.
  • Calligra Flow: it is a software integrated in the Calligra office suite that we have talked about so much here. Flow allows you to quickly and easily create diagrams and flowcharts that will help us orient ourselves and order our pending work.
  • Day planner: finally, with this other app we have a good planner with a calendar in which to write down our appointments and pending tasks. Everything necessary so that we do not forget anything with a system of notifications or notifications.

Please, if you use or know other interesting tools, Do not hesitate to leave a comment...

I just downloaded gnote and it is ONLY a tomboy clone, I don't see any difference to it. It actually hangs in my tomboy notes folder, so I would appreciate it if you could explain the advantages of gnote to me.

    Thank you
