OpenEXPO Europe 2019: summary of the past event

OpenExpo 2019 6th Edition

On June 21, 2019, a multitude of companies, professionals and passionate about new technologies gathered in Madrid in the largest open technologies event in Europe. OpenEXPO 2019 was a success again one more year with the participation of sponsors such as IBM, Red Hat, Google Cloud, ARsys, etc. There were also top-level professional conferences and some 73 stands at the fair.

The 6th Edition of the event not only had talks by speakers, they also wanted to create a debate on technologies and the innovation sector with 8 round tables so that it could be discuss openly with 40 experts. They covered topics such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Fintech, CIO SUmmit, Entrepreneurship, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation, and Women in Tech.

At the end of all the presentations, the award ceremony of the recognized ones was also held Open Awards 2019, which this year was already the 4th Edition that has been held since OpenEXPO began. At the ceremony it was possible to attend the honorable mentions of this gala and the prizes were delivered to the awards of the different categories that there were. In addition, the most charitable and supportive facet of the event was the check for € 1150 delivered to Julián Campos, Vice President of the Madrid committee of UNICEF.

As for the the winners of the Open Awards 2019, were Kiwi TCMS (Best Tech Community), Irontec (Best Services Solutions Provider), Liberbank (Best Success Story Company / Public Administration), Aprender SM (Best Innovative Platform / Project), Waima Technologies (Best StartUp) , IBM (Bet Cloud Solution), ERASER (Best Project in Transparency Citizen Participation and Open Government), and El Atareao (Best Medium or Blog).

All the special mentions they were for Cristina Aranda and Sara Alvarellos for MujeresTech, UNICEF Mardid Committee, Luis Falcón for GNU Health, David Montalva for Lliuex, Julián Fernandez as CEO of Fossa Systems, and Jorge Oteo CIO of Vocento ...
