MX-16: a new name to add to the list of distros

MXLinux

There is almost always talk of well-known distributions, such as Debian, openSUSE, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Arch Linux, Fedora, etc., but it does not hurt to search for the large repertoire of distributions that exist to gradually take out some distros that they are more hidden, and for that reason they are not worse, although that is a matter of taste. This time we have brought MX-16, which will surely please you if you liked other projects such as MEPIS, or AntiX, since MX Linux arises as a collaboration of both developers.

The MX-16 acronym is a mystery, at least for me, and I don't know where they come from (of course 16 is the last version that was released in December 2016, therefore it is not a new project). But this is the least, since when you analyze the distribution you realize several things. The first thing to say that after lower the ISO 64-bit that has an approximate size of 1.2GB, we can test it in Live mode or install it on our computer or virtual machine.

Say that the kernel is a Linux 4.7.0 and the default desktop environment that it brings is Xfce in its version 4.12. Therefore it is not a too heavy distro, although it is not one of the lightest either. If we continue to investigate, we see some colors a little disconcerting and the fonts sometimes become blurry, two negative details that contrast with its attractiveness and its bar on the left side in the style of Unity in Ubuntu, instead of being in the lower area of the screen They have also given a very distinctive touch to other distros in terms of visual issues.

However, it brings enough software packages to satisfy the majority of users, it detects the hardware well, the installer is not bad at all, and as I said, its design is good despite those two defects that I have pointed out in the previous paragraph. . And above all, I would like to emphasize that it is a very agile distro and quite stable, so it will give you few problems, in part to its base, which is Debian.
