Krita Foundation has announced the immediate availability of Krita 4.1, the first major update of this free digital painting and illustration software after the Krita 4.0 release at the beginning of this year.
Among the most interesting new features of Krita 4.1 is the new feature to save and load sessions that can include images and views, support for creating multi-monitor workspaces has been added, workflow when working with animation has been improved, and a better timeline for animations has been added.
Krita 4.1 also enables animation of longer files by exchanging memory with the hard disk. Taking as inspiration the way of mixing colors in real life, a tool has been added to choose colors and mix them, the performance and speed of the brushes was also improved and a new reference image tool was added by removing the old flattener.
Were added convergence point wizards improvements to display reference lines and now you can change the color of each wizard individually.
Krita 4.1 available for Linux, Mac and Windows
Krita 4.1 is built on Python 2, required for VFX production, although it is noted that the Linux AppImage and the Windows version use Python 3. Of course, this version includes many bug fixes and performance improvements.
