In defense of our fellow Linux Post Install

In Defense of Linux Post Install

One of our colleagues from the blog From Linux has suffered an unspeakable attack from a linuxer youtuber who uses the nick of Crazy about Linux. I come out in defense of our partner Linux PostInstall because his supposed crime is to inform using public information How much do linux youtubers earn?

Like a show diva, this youtuber does an activity that generates a trail of information, but he wants those of us who dedicate ourselves to reporting to ignore that trail. And, when one of us doesn't do it, he dedicates himself to insults supported by a chorus of clapping seals.

In Defense of Linux Post Install

In the more than twelve minutes that the video lasts, Crazy about Linux es unable to provide a single argument why such information should not be published. Information that, again, was not obtained by hacking into your computer or by sending a team of spies into Youtube's offices. It is public and he himself admits that it is quite close to reality.

The ad hominem fallacy is a resource for those who do not have arguments to justify their position. It consists of attacking the person instead of the fact.  One of the types of this fallacy is the abusive one in which direct insult is used. The softest thing that our partner says is leech. The other is the circumstantial where situational factors are alluded to. For youtube, that our partner "spams" his work or has a Linux distribution that he does not like, are sufficient reasons to deny our partner the right to inform.

The right to information

Crazy about Linux claims that Linux Post Install violated his right to privacy. I ask you to look at this screenshot

Crazy About Linux Channel

As you can see, the view counter is public and this is a feature that can be perfectly deactivated in the YouTube settings. Therefore, the first person responsible for the "violation of your privacy" is Crazy about Linux. Anyone has the right to make calculations with information that is public and to publish it.

As a certain editor of an English newspaper told a politician "If you don't want us to print it, don't."

The question remains whether Linux PostInstall It is, as the youtuber so colorfully calls it, "A leech." The answer is no because your article answered a concern thatue many of us have, that of how viable it is to live from the contents of Linux in Spanish.

In any case, if there were a leech, and I'm not saying there is, it would be crazy about linux which uses a perfectly harmless post to victimize himself and gain easy applause from his few demanding followers.

I have as much time watching Locos Por Linux as I have reading these blogs, both LinuxAdictos like DesdeLinux and honestly all this seems stupid to me... I'm not going to take any side and what I will say are facts, whether it's hard to digest them or not and I support both content creators and respect them, but I have to say something after seeing so much the Locos por Linux video how to read this blog.

I understand Nico's perspective (Crazy about Linux) but from the moment one accepts any contract terms of a service like Google, and especially YouTube, one knows perfectly well that their data is public, that's the way it is and I don't have a channel YouTube or Google account like to check it myself. What I can say is that Google is not interested in personal problems, for example, someone created a Facebook account in my name when I never use Facebook and shares things as if it were me, the first thing I did was notify Facebook and what did they do? Nothing. "There is no way to verify that your information is true", although I gave them my ID, they believe that I am the bad guy who wants to delete the account that publishes in my name, when it is the other way around, and they are not going to do anything for that, I have to eat the snot. My next step was to ask Google to remove it from their search results and guess what they told me? Exact. If I, as any person, do not even have the ability to eliminate false information on the internet asking for help from those directly responsible, when I at no time accept terms of service, I do not think that someone who has signed them will help them.

Now, I understand that it bothers Nico that they "share" that data, but let's be honest, anyone who looks for that tool for themselves can find that information, and I'm not promoting it, I say it as a fact and it's not that they had to hack him His account is that he himself accepted the TOS (terms of service) since his channel was created that all that information was going to be public, it's that simple, that's how Google, Facebook, Apple, even our own governments work.

In this case, what Nico should do or have done is look to see if in any privacy settings on his channel he can deactivate that data, which I doubt, or probably if he can, but it is misrepresented with the malice that at any time they can repeal that, that's Google, Don't be evil.

Now, here's a bit of personal salt, if you want you can stop reading, but it's my opinion: I hope, sincerely, I hope that Nico doesn't go from being a YouTuber to becoming an influencer, the quality of Nico's channel is exceptional and I think that many Of us we owe the knowledge that he has given us through his videos, and he has always been a very noble and objective person. But lately I see that something has been changing and I don't like it at all, the last video of his I saw was "What's up with the new Re-Spins??", from just a week ago, since then I hadn't seen any of his videos until Today I read this blog and what I didn't like about that video is that he did something that he never does, or is not common on his channel, which is to be sub-objective, and in that video he was precisely criticizing a Telegram group that was attacking, and that's fine, but was it necessary? The video has little or nothing to do with the respins, it's just that the creator of the respin was attacking him and his group was attacking him, and honestly... Who are these people compared to him? Nobody, as I am nobody, compared to the creator of this blog or Nico, my opinions should not be taken seriously by anyone, as if they were absolute reality, and many times people feel identified with something they like and are blinded to see reality, only to defend what identifies it. In fact, I would have sworn before reading this blog that the leeching video was that the creator of the respin had responded or that the creator of the FromLinux blog was the creator of that respin, but no, it's another "drama".

I hope this drama ends soon, the Hispanic Linux community is still not big enough to argue among ourselves.

I also want to add that I would 100% agree with Nico's position, in case, for example, he had published the income he has based on donations from PayPal, in that case it would be illegal, and PayPal cannot transfer certain data to a third party. . But no, it was based on YouTube, where there are literally memberships and Google has a counter for that.

Nico can also directly request that page to remove his data.

What a sad situation, I hope everything gets fixed.
It's sad to see fights in the community.

That guy crazy about Linux is just dumb and that's it, it's totally public data that anyone can know and that on many occasions this type of data has appeared on television, explaining to us in great detail what many youtubers earn, both Spanish and foreign and nothing has ever happened, what has screwed this guy up is that the money he earns is known.

Actually, I appreciate all the Spanish-speaking content creators and especially because I have learned and shared a lot with them. However, in recent times I have noticed that "divo" behavior of Nico who is crazy about Linux. He went from making entertaining videos with information to becoming increasingly critical and above all subjective in his analysis and comments. He is changing the way he communicates and attacking and criticizing very, very subjectively and with partial information and biased comments. I remember his videos about respins and his attack on other communities for no other reason than to vent his resentment (nothing to do with learning Linux), his review of some distros, I remember Planeta Tecno OS that almost destroyed it instead of supporting another creator in his first steps and as if that were not enough, giving biased and broken information (a channel that is dedicated to teaching and answering comments) and now he is offended because he does not like that they show an analysis made based on public data. In addition, the Linux Post Install article is very good, I was very curious if the topic of the videos is profitable for Spanish-speakers.
A pity that individualities and egos weigh so much, a good creator Nico, but his profile is being changed to one that, personally, I don't like. "Give power to a man and you will see how he really is." Let's hope it's a slip and not the case of the sentence. Greetings and strength Linux Post Install and all content creators.

In Defense of our colleague Nico

You have the same legality to publish that article as to publish your video.
The same freedom of information protects you as it does him.
You wanted to mess it up and you have succeeded, very well, surely you have had visitors enough to stop a train, but victims... nothing. Neither one nor the other
