Few days ago the release of the new version of Clonezilla Live 2.7.2 was announced that comes with the update of the Debian system base as well as the Linux Kernel, in addition to some changes in the start menu and especially the correction of errors.

Cloning is possible at the level of entire disks or individual partitions.
Main new features of Clonezilla Live 2.7.2
This new version of Clonezilla Live 2.7.2 has been synced with the Debian Sid package database as of May 30, while the kernel of Linux has been updated to version 5.10.40 (instead of 5.9.1) and the administrator systemd to version 248 which includes image support for expanding system directories, the systemd-cryptenroll utility, as well as the ability to unlock LUKS2 using TPM2 chips and FIDO2 tokens.
From the changes that have been made, we can find that a new item "VGA with large font and RAM" has been added to the start menu, which uses nomodeset instead of KMS when interacting with the graphics subsystem, in case jfbterm does not work on some graphics cards. The item "KMS with large font and RAM" has been moved to the submenu.
In addition, the handling of the headers of the encrypted sections of Veracrypt has been improved, plus ocs-save-veracrypt-vh and ocs-restore-veracrypt-vh drivers were added.
It is also mentioned that in live mode, the transition to sleep and standby modes is disabled and the ocs-park-disk driver is called before rebooting and shutting down.
Of the other changes that stand out in this new version Clonezilla Live 2.7.2:
- Added "–force" option to vgcfgrestore utility to force metadata retrieval.
- Added the echo_ocs_repository boot parameter, when set to "no" the output of the request to mount the repository is hidden.
- Added "-sspt" ("–skip-save-part-table") option to ocs-sr and drbl-ocs to save and restore a complete disk without separate manipulations with disk partitions.
- Includes package jq (analog sed for JSON data).
- Added option -sspt, –skip-save-part-table for ocs-sr and drbl-ocs, this allows saving and restoring a complete disk without any partition by dd.
- ocs-sr changed -sspt to -scpt and added an option to force choice of disk name in saveparts mode in expert mode.
