AMD Radeon Software 20.30 - Released for Linux

AMD Radeon Logo

AMD Radeon Software 20.30 it's here for GNU / Linux distributions. AMD's well-known suite of proprietary drivers for Radeon GPUs also brings some interesting improvements. Although the free drivers work quite well, for those gamers who need to make the most of their graphics card, it never hurts to have these types of options.

Now you have support for modern distros such as Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS (Focal Fossa) and also for SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop and Server versions 15 Service Pack 2 or SP2. Of course, it also officially supports others such as Red Hat (RHEL 7.8 and 8.2) and CentOS (7.8 and 8.2), as well as previous versions of Ubuntu such as 18.04.4 LTS, etc.

So if you use AMD Radeon graphics on your computer, and you are using proprietary drivers, you should update to Radeon Software version 20.30 to enjoy all the news. Also, remember that Radeon Software for Linux includes both open AMDGPU and closed AMDGPU-Pro. And for its download, you can do it from the official website...

I would also like to comment that it is compatible with various GPUs or graphics cards from AMD. Between the Radeon supported are:

  • AMD Radeon RX 5700, 5600 and 5500 Series, which are the latest.
  • AMD Radeon RX Vega
  • AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition
  • AMD Radeon VII
  • AMD Radeon RX 550, 560, 570, 580, 590 Series
  • AMD Radeon RX 460, 470, 480

  • AMD Radeon Pro WX 9100
  • AMD Radeon Pro WX 8200
