A few days ago the release of Zorin OS 11 was announced in its ultimate and core versions. Yesterday Valentine's Day, it was announced that Zorin OS 11 it would also have a Lite version and a Business version, giving a total of 4 different versions of this operating system.
Let's say these versions they are an intermediate step between the ultimate and core versions, as the core is too basic and the ultimate version is too advanced.
If you do not know Zorin OS, it is an operating system based on the Ubuntu operating systems, and that is intended to offer familiarity to people coming from Windows, since they have a fairly similar interface.
Zorin OS 11 core version
This is the most basic version of all and is intended for a very basic use of a personal computer, a use that does not go beyond surfing the Internet, reading email and editing a photo. It is a free version and is available both in 32 as in 64 bits, occupying approximately 1,5 Gigs.
Zorin OS 11 lite version
This is Zorin's exclusive version of low-resource teams, which it achieves thanks to its Lxde desktop (it is based on Lubuntu 15.10) and has been created so that people who have run out of Windows XP support can have an updated operating system without having to change computers. The ISO is only in 32 bits and it occupies 1 GB, being also free.
Zorin 11 OS business version
We come to the first paid version of Zorin, that is, the version for companies. For the modest price of $ 9, we can have an operating system prepared with business software, such as databases, accounting programs ... Payment is made by PayPal and through the Zorin official page.
Zorin OS 11 ultimate version
The most advanced version of Zorin is the ultimate, since it has the most advanced features of all versions, being prepared even to play. Its drawback is the cost, which is 10 dollars, also making the payment through PayPal in your official page.
Zorin OS 10 gave me problems when finishing the installation, I do not know if it was not compatible with my laptop, it is a Gateway NE511.
I had an error with the lite, core and ultimate version, nothing else worked with zorin os 9 core, does anyone know why that is?
Thanks for the information, could you tell me how long Zorin OS 11 will be supported? Thank you very much! Greetings !.
From Zorin for 10 dollars to free Mint without going through "Mierbuntu" I'll take Mint, Cinnamon desk
I do not like to criticize articles nor do I have it as a rule ... but what you have exposed here ... shows that you have not invested too much time in preparing an article properly.
Zorin Lite is essentially the equivalent of Lubuntu… but Zorin Lite is lighter.
To say that Zorin Business and Ultimate are advanced versions…. It is incorrect. Essentially they are Zorin Core with more programs pre-installed…. free programs that you can install on your Zorin Core for free… without paying anything.
There are too many articles about Zorin criticizing the so-called "paid versions" ... but no one has stopped to reason for a minute. These "paid versions" are just a different way to get donations ... the same as other distros do, but offering something in return ... in this case, a lot of pre-installed software, a priority service channel for maintenance and problems and little more.
It is not necessary to pay to enjoy the full potential of Zorin ... and Zorin OS 11 is the equivalent of Ubuntu 15 ... that is, a version NOT recommended for common users. These points are of paramount importance and ignoring them only leads to confusion and nonsense.
I download the distro, save it as ISO with Nero Burning and when trying to install it I get the following error: ISO image checksum error, sorry. Is it the layout, is it my PC, or is the DVD burning the cause of the system not loading?
On windows download this file: http://www.winmd5.com/ and see that the checksum matches the one provided by the Zorin website (or the distro that you want) I regularly prefer to make a bootable usb instead of burning a linux dvd, it is very easy, you use a windows program called Rufus, and the iso of the distro in question and voila. You avoid the problem of a "faulty" copy, because if something goes wrong, just download the iso again, repeat the checksum, and make your usb bootable again, without any major problem.
