Zentyal Server 5 is now available to everyone

Zentyal Server 5

On November 29, the latest version of one of the most popular distributions among the server world was released: ZentyalServer. This distribution has released Zentyal Server 5, a version intended for the server and business world. Zentyal Server 5 is a free distribution unlike other distributions like Red Hat Linux or SUSE Linux Enterprise.

Zentyal Server 5 specializes in increased compatibility with Windows Server and Active Directory, two quite problematic elements in networks with Gnu / Linux, hence the popularity of Zentyal Server.

In addition to its compatibility and configuration with Active Directory, Zentyal Server 5 contains the latest version of Samba with an optimal configuration that will save us having to install third-party add-ons so that it works well with certain Windows networks, this key program for communication with other computers on the network. Zentyal Server 5 will have SOGo, a groupware software that will allow us to synchronize contacts and calendars as well as to have communication with other computers on the network.

Zentyal Server 5 is based on the latest LTS version of Ubuntu

Zentyal Server 5 is based on Ubuntu 16.04, a Canonical LTS version that not only contains the latest stable version of the kernel it also has exceptional business support. Not forgetting that it already contains two updates and an update version will soon be released that will modernize the system, not only of Ubuntu but also of the distributions that are based on it, as in this case Zentyal Server 5.

Zentyal Server contains also security tools such as a powerful firewall, HTTP Proxy and OpenVPN, among other tools that will allow us to have a safe and intrusion-free server with the correct configuration.

Zentyal Server 5 is now available for download via the official website of the distribution. An iso image that we can use on our server or in a virtual machine as a complement to our operating system. Any option will be just as valid.
