AntiX is a Linux distribution built directly on Debian Stable. It is comparatively lightweight and suitable for older computers, while providing state-of-the-art kernel and applications, as well as updates and additions through the apt-get package system and Debian-compatible repositories.
antiX offers users "antiX Magic" in an environment suitable for both old and new computers.
The goal of antiX is to provide a lightweight, yet fully functional and flexible operating system, For both newcomers and experienced Linux users.
It should run on most computers, from the 256MB PIII systems with preconfigured shifting to the latest powerful boxes. 256MB RAM minimum is recommended for antiX.
The installer requires a minimum hard disk size of 2.7GB.
AntiX can also be used as a quick-boot rescue CD and works extremely well running 'live' with or without 'persistence' on a USB stick or 'frugal' on a hard drive.
