As expected after two releases Delayed 48 hours for Christmas and New Year's Eve, new development versions of the software to run Windows applications on other operating systems will arrive again on Friday. Both rc3 and rc4 were released on Sunday, but today WineHQ launched WINE 7.0-rc5, and it has done so only five days after the previous Release Candidate.
Still, five days off vacation and being focused on development go a long way than when you are thinking about the holidays. This week, WineHQ says they have fixed 30 bugs and have introduced a total of 51 changes. Although they do not highlight anything in particular, in this phase of development they only say that they add corrections because the code has already been frozen, reading a little above we see that they have corrected some memory leaks and have abandoned or eliminated some things, which said about otherwise, they have somehow polished some of the software.
WINE 7.0 is coming very soon
The development version Wine 7.0-rc5 is now available.

WINE 7.0-rc5 is the fifth Release Candidate of the next version of WINE, and can now be downloaded from this y this other link; Be careful the second they always add it and it can take hours to work. The project also provides information on how to install the Developer, Staging or Stable versions here.
Last year they released five Release Candidates and then the stable version, so it is not clear if WINE 7.0 will arrive next Friday or what they will deliver to us will be the rc6. In any case, the stable version of v7.0 of this famous software should arrive in january.
