Microsoft continues to support Linux in the next Windows 10 update that will arrive in April 2019, version number 1903, and the company has detailed some changes to come.

One of the most important improvements in the next update is the possibility of access Linux files directly from Explorer, the default administrator for Windows 10.

Right now, this option is part of build 18836, which is a pre-build for Windows 2020 April 10 Update, but Microsoft mentions that it will be available in version 1903 this summer.

Microsoft explains that this implementation is as simple as it could be. Just type explorer.exe on any Linux distribution on Windows 10 installed with WSL and the command should open the file explorer with the Linux files available as part of the dedicated storage.

More improvements soon for Windows 10 and Linux

Users can do with their Linux files the same as they can with Windows 10. Microsoft mentions that this feature is in early stage And many improvements are coming along the way, so the experience would be refined when Windows 10 build 1903 is available in April.

Windows 10 April Update, or Build 1903, will be finalized next month, being the members of the Insider program the first to receive it in the RTM compilation. The public update will arrive in April in a leveled way to all computers in the world.
