Warpinator is available for Android, and it works better than you might expect

Warpinator on Android

Although some disgruntled user ends up telling me that I am not right, I think it is a fact that Apple has some good things. Even the competition has spoken well of, at least, its ecosystem, which is basically the combination that everything works when you use more than one device of its brand. The apple company launched AirDrop a long time ago, and Linux Mint has been offering us for months warpinator, a tool With which we can share files with devices that are connected to the same network and use Linux.

Android is based on Linux, so Warpinator should be able to run on Google's mobile operating system. Logically, we could not do anything if the application did not exist, but it exists, just as reported Clement Lefebvre at the end of April. The Android application It was created by an independent developer, doing so correctly by mentioning the author of the original software and offering the tool at no cost. In fact, it does not even show advertising, which on the one hand seems logical to me and on the other is appreciated.

To be totally honest, to transfer files between my devices I have been connecting them in a network, since I have a laptop with Windows, another with Linux, I have Android on the Raspberry Pi ... I have many devices, but what I have clear is that now I will use Warpinator for Linux-based ones, including PineTab (which I am most disappointed with lately due to the lack of major progress that interest me).

Its use is very simple. Just open it on both devices, and if they are on the same network, they will find each other. At that moment, if we want to send from the Linux version, we just have to drag a file to its window. To do it on Android, you have to tap or click the share icon that appears at the bottom right.

For everything else, I think it is not as fast as Apple's AirDrop, but I could be wrong since the WiFi of the laptop that I have used is not the best in the world and in the Raspberry Pi I have an unofficial Android. But, for its simplicity, worth use Warpinator.

Warpinator for Android can be download from Google Play.
