The wait is getting longer. Too much. At the beginning of 2019, more than a year ago, VideoLan presented the new VLC interface, or more specifically the future interface that will come from the hand of VLC 4. Shortly after they entered fully into its development and Linux users have a Snap package available from which we can test what the future UI will be like. The question is: when will the stable version arrive? If we give free rein to our imagination (or our desire), we could say that it will be sooner rather than later.
VideoLan is not giving much information regarding when they will release VLC 4, but this week they posted a sobering tweet. In it, they look for music groups that allow them use your album covers for your captures. Captures? About what? So that? Our wish that the v4 of one of the most famous players on the planet arrives soon makes us think that what they want is to take screenshots of the new VLC library to publish it on their official website. It makes sense, it makes sense, and it is not a far-fetched idea.
VLC 4 around the corner?
We're looking for bands with album-art that we can use in the VLC screenshots on our websites and Stores listing.
We will not use the music, just show the album art cover on our screenshots.
Should be CC-BY-SA or -ND or with explicit permissions.
RT appreciated

We are looking for groups with skins that we can use in the VLC screenshots on our websites and store listings. We will not use the music, we will only show the album cover in our screenshots. Must be CC-BY-SA or -ND or with explicit permissions. Retweet is appreciated.
It is impossible to know for sure what they are preparing, but changes are coming, at least in their website. Considering that VLC 4 will be the most important change to the player in years, we may be facing the imminent launch of a version that could make many of us forget about our default music player to use the VideoLan proposal.
Users interested in test the beta, more specifically the "edge", you can open a terminal and write the following command:
sudo snap install vlc --edge
Being a totally independent Snap package, we can install it without compromising the version of the repositories officers, but at the moment it lacks fluency. Hopefully, the stable and perfect version that we are all waiting for will arrive soon.
