The UBports community today launched the 10th OTA update of your Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system available for all supported devices.
Arriving three and a half months from OTA-9, Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 is available with better hardware compatibility for Fairphone 2, Nexus 5 and OnePlus One phones adding proper camera orientation and audio routing on the Fairphone 2 and fixing video and audio sync issues for the Fairphone 2 and OnePlus One.
Additionally, Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 improves Wi-Fi geolocation speed and reliability removing the wolfpack tool, which used the Geoclue service to obtain approximate location data. Although after installing Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 some users will have to wait up to 20 minutes for their location to update.
Message improvements, sound support on Android 7.1 devices
Also new to Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 is an improved messaging app that now supports drafts when sending SMS and MMS and gets the ability for users to select between a dark and light theme or the system default theme.
Was added support for basic sound from PulseAudio and camera on Android 7.1as well as an improved application manager that now allows you to browse archives for packages and select one to install.
Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 is now available for all supported devices including Fairphone 2, OnePlus One, Nexus 5, Nexus 4, BQ Aquaris M10 HD and FHD, BQ Aquaris E4.5, BQ Aquaris E5, Meizu MX 4, Meizu PRO 5, as well as Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi and LTE.
It is recommended that all users update their devices as soon as possible. The UBports community is already working on the next release, Ubuntu Touch OTA-11, with no estimated release date.
