We have finally met the new nickname of the next version of Ubuntu, that is, Ubuntu 17.10. As many of you already know, Ubuntu always gives its versions a nickname, a nickname that has to do with an animal and an adjective. But also, these words always begin with the same name.
This doesn't really affect the distribution and it is still a play on words that many find funny, but that has established itself as a tradition among Ubuntu users.
Ubuntu 17.10 Will Be Called Artful Aardvark Or The Ingenious Earth Pig (the latter would be a translation into Spanish). A nickname that will have a version of Ubuntu with many changes because it will not only change the default desktop of the distribution but also things such as the email client, the graphical server, the kernel, etc ...
Ubuntu Artful Aardvark will have Wayland as a graphical server
Artful Aardvark will be the first version in many years to have Gnome as the default desktop. A desk that has yet to be polished according to Canonical's new CEO. Along with Gnome, Ubuntu Artful Aardvark will have a new graphical server and it will not be MIR but it will be Wayland. The kernel will be another new point, in this case, since this version of Ubuntu is not LTS, the kernel will be the last stable version.
The arrival of Gnome has meant many changes in the usual programs that we use, one of the first changes that we will see is the removal of the default email client and some are already talking about removing the default web browser as well, giving the user more freedom when choosing.
As you can see, Ubuntu 17.10 Artful Aardvark is loaded with many new features and there are still many to come. However Will regular Ubuntu users really like this? What do you think?
