As we announced earlier in the week, Ubuntu 17.04 is now available to everyone. The new version of Ubuntu was born between controversies and news from Canonical, Ubuntu's parent company, but this does not mean that it is an empty version, quite the opposite.
Ubuntu 17.04 is characterized by having the latest version of Gnome, Gnome 3.24, but Unity is still the default desktop. A desktop that keeps getting updates and changes. Lubuntu 17.04, Ubuntu's light flavor, does not have LXQT but contains LXDE.
The changes or novelties of Ubuntu 17.04 are several. Among the most important is the addition of kernel 4.10 to the distribution. X.Org 1.19 and MESA 17 have also been added.
Ubuntu Budgie is the new official flavor that comes from the hand of Ubuntu 17.04
Ubuntu Budgie 17.04 is the first official Ubuntu release with the popular Solus desktop, a recent official flavor and the newest of all. This flavor will be the most striking of all for its novelty, but it will not be the only one that attracts attention since Xubuntu is also a fairly light flavor for many and Ubuntu Gnome will be the focus of the attention of many.
But the most important and interesting change is the decrease in the use of swap memory. Swap memory will no longer be needed or at least it won't need to be double our ram amount. The swap memory space will no longer be used in the first place and in some cases may be deleted, although it is not recommended to do so. But of course this change will make many Ubuntu users not update their operating system but do a clean install.
If you don't have Ubuntu and you want to install it, in this link You can find the download of the Ubuntu 17.04 version and some other official flavor.
