Ubuntu 14.04 LTS will reach the end of its life on April 30, 2019

Released April 17, 2014, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr will reach the end of its life in about 3 months from today, specifically on April 30, 2019. Being a long-maintenance version, it was supported for five years.

A year ago, on September 19, Canonical reported that Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr users have the possibility to purchase additional support for this operating system through the offer called Extended Security Maintenance (ESM), which has already been a best seller with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin users.

"ESM's ability for Ubuntu 14.04 means that the end of its cycle in April 2019 will not have a negative impact for organizations. Canonical puts security at the heart of Ubuntu, in our practices, processes and the architecture of our products. " It is mentioned in the post.

Ubuntu 14.04 ESM available from May 2019

Organizations, businesses and individuals interested in extending the life of the system through the ESM offering should review Canonical's business package or contact the sales department to plan for the upcoming end on April 30. You can know more details in the ad.

Starting in May 2019, the Ubuntu 14.04 ESM package will be available for purchase. Although do not forget that you can free upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Xenial Xerus which is supported until April 2021 or to Ubuntu 18.04 LTS with support until April 2023 or April 2028.
