Few days ago the launch of the new version of that of a completely “free” Linux distribution, «Trisquel 10.0 Nabia» which is based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS base package and is targeted for use by small businesses, educational institutions, and home users.

The distribution is notable for excluding all non-free components from the distribution, such as binary drivers, firmware, and graphics that are distributed under a non-free license or use trademarks.
Despite the complete rejection of proprietary components, Trisquel is compatible with Java (OpenJDK), supports most audio and video formats, including work with protected DVDs, while using only completely free implementations of these technologies. The desktops offered are MATE (default), LXDE, and KDE.
Trisquel 10.0, codename “Nabia” is finally here! This version will have security updates until April 2025. In addition, an update to the “Etiona” version (v9.0.2) is also released today,

Main novelties of Trisquel 10.0 Nabia
In this new version that is presented of the distribution the base migration has been carried out of the system and of the packages of the base from Ubuntu 18.04 to the current Ubuntu 20.04 LTS branch.
With this new change is introduced together with version 5.4 of the Linux Kernel completely free, better known as "Free Linux", in which proprietary firmware and drivers containing non-free components were removed. Packages with kernels 5.8 and 5.13 are available as options.
Another of the changes that stands out from Trisquel 10.0 Nabia is that stopped build training for i686 architecturebut i'm done with it now added builds for ARM architecture (armhf), in addition to that for the future, it is mentioned that it is planned to implement support for ARM64 and PowerPC architectures.
On the part of the packages, we can find that the desktop MATE has been updated to version 1.24, along with optional user environment updates LXDE 0.99.2 and KDE 5.18 that are available for installation.
In addition to this, it is mentioned in the announcement the inclusion of updated software versions of Firefox 96.0 (renamed Abrowser), Icedove (Thunderbird) 91.5.0, LibreOffice 7.1.7, VLC 3.0.9.2, Xorg 7.7, GLibc 2.31.
Finally another one of the changes which was announced in this new version That has nothing to do with distribution.but that is still important is that the main website of the distribution will have a redesign, so it will soon undergo a deep update.
