After more than a year of development, and although they have launched intermediate updates In all this time, we already have a new version of the more secure Firefox-based browser. We are talking about Tor Browser 11, and among the most prominent changes there is one that stands out above the rest, more than anything because it is the first thing we will see when we start it: it comes with a new user interface to provide new sensations, that is, what in English they refer as Look and feel.
A few months ago, Mozilla released a new design for its browser Web. Although it never rains to everyone's liking, in fact there are users who say that the change is "a pain", it does offer a more modern experience, with shapes and colors that we can see similar in other browsers such as Google Chrome. This new design is present in Firefox 91 ESR, the version of the browser on which the new Tor Browser 11 is based.

Also related to the new look and base change to Firefox's ESR v91, the 11th version of the Tor browser has made touch-ups all over so none of the design is out of tune; that is, the tweaks have been made based on what Mozilla introduced in Firefox 89, so you don't have to worry about some things being seen one way and others another. Among these changes we have the colors, the typography, the buttons and the icons. All the new features that Mozilla introduced since its previous ESR version are also present in Tor Browser 11.
In Tor Browser 11 V2 Onion services have been scrapped, completely. It is something that they were warning about since the launch of Tor 10.5, and that day has already arrived. When upgrading, Tor 0.4.6.8 v2 services are no longer accessible and users will receive an "Invalid Onion Site Address" error.
But not all changes are good. Tor Browser 11 is a zero-point version (11.0), which means that it is a major update that has not received any fixes yet. Therefore, various errors are known/ bugs:
- DocumentFreezer and file schema
- Fonts are not rendered.
- Features are missing when first booting to esr91 on macOS.
- Change the HTTP method of the Blockchair Search provider.
- AV1 videos show as corrupt files in Windows 8.1.
- Since the update to 11.0a9 some addons are inactive and need to be disabled-re-enabled at every startup.
- Changing svg.disable affects the NoScript settings.
- Chrome browser breaks when private browsing mode is disabled.
