TOR 7 web browser now available

TOR 7 web browser

If you are concerned about computer security, surely many of you know the Tor Network and its security tools. For those of you who do not know this network, say that it is a network that works like onion layers and offers maximum anonymity in the connection that helps us to prevent malware and spy tools from working with our data.

The TOR network has several tools that use this technology, one of these is the TOR web browser. This web browser has reached its seventh version, this is TOR 7 already exists.

The new version of the TOR browser is based on Mozilla Firefox 52 ESR, a stable version with long support. But this does not mean that we find the same as in Firefox, far from it. TOR 7 offers greater security in aspects such as tracking, malware or security between users. Also in this version the Firefox sandbox is applied which makes certain applications more secure to run or web page codes.

TOR networks plus Mozilla Firefox 52 results in TOR 7

TOR 7 has redirected Firefox sockets to point to the TOR network, which makes it even safer to use, at least in terms of anonymity. Although we have to say that these Sandbox functions and use of sockets is having a problem in Windows, but it will be solved with future updates.

TOR 7 in addition fixes bugs in previous versions of the web browser and bugs that have appeared on Mozilla Firefox and that in previous versions have not been corrected. Which makes TOR 7 an ideal web browser for many users. On the release notes all the version changes are found in detail.

If you want to install this web browser in your Gnu / Linux distribution we just have to go to the official website of the project and download the package with the TOR 7 browser files. Once we have the package, we unzip it and do double click on the file «start-tor-browser»  to run Tor Browser 7. This will launch the web browser but it will not be installed, something that for the moment has not been solved by means of a package.
