More and more users either change their Macbook for a laptop with Gnu / Linux or delete MacOS and change it for Gnu / linux. In any case, the Mac user is always looking for a distribution that is easy to use and that maintains the same beautiful appearance that characterizes the MacOS operating system.
And even though Gnu / Linux distributions are characterized by strong customizationIt is true that there are some distributions that look more like MacOS than others. For this reason we are going to present you The Four Best Linux Distributions Mac Users Can Use instead of macOS.
Elementary OS
The distribution that most closely resembles MacOS is without a doubt Elementary OS. Built on Ubuntu and with strong customization, Elementary OS is aimed at those Mac users who want to use Linux. His desktop, Panther, is built to mimic the MacOS desktop and he is currently looking for applications to be exclusive to the distribution as is currently the case on MacOS. Elementary OS you can get it through this link.
Solus
This distribution has been very successful in 2016 thanks to its appearance and its fully functional desktop. Budgie's side panel reminds us of MacOS but unlike this one, Solus does not have a dock by default, something that we can solve thanks to Plank. An alternative to Solus would be Ubuntu Budgie, but between the two, the most stable and solid is Solus, since the other is still under development. Solus you can get it through this link.
Linux Mint
This distribution that has the nickname of Ubuntu Menthol. It is not very similar to MacOS, but it does it is a simple layout and with a simple menu and file management, like MacOS. This is why many Mac users choose Linux Mint over another distribution. Linux Mint does not have a dock or a full panel like MacOS but they can be easily added. Linux Mint is available at this link.
Ubuntu
Ubuntu is the one that least resembles MacOS. But it was also the first distribution on which MacBuntu is based. MacBuntu is a customization package, as well as a desktop theme, which allows us to change the entire interface and make it look like MacOS. Their similarity is incredible and many users prefer this solution because it is the most similar. Ubuntu you can get it in this link.
Conclusion on these distributions for Mac users
These distributions are the closest or similar to the look and feel of MacOS, but they are not the only ones. In any case, if I had to choose, possibly the best option would be Elementary OS, as it tries to integrate not only the aspect of Apple but also its philosophy, something that the other distributions do not offer, of course without having to pay for it as is currently the case with Apple products.
And PearOS? It is an ubuntu with MacOS skin hahahaha
Without fully understanding the interest in making Linux look like Mac, I miss the distribution that most shares aesthetics with the apple: Deepin. Apart from the Chinese original, you can install that desk in Arch or Manjaro (if you don't want to complicate your life). It is stable, beautiful and easy to handle even for a newcomer. All the best.
To say that Ubuntu is the one that least resembles MacOs, when it even incorporates a global menu as standard, it has cloth, but not taking Deepin into account is already going overboard.
Wasn't the elementary desk Pantheon instead of Panther?
Apricity looks a lot more like Solus, Ubuntu, and mint.
After using Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 and testing mint and elementary on my macbook 6,2 I can say that it is a bit complicated for a newbie. Initial boot, brightness control, webcam, power management, they take a bit of fiddling (block the kernel update, for example) BUT IT'S SO MUCH BETTER, SO MORE POWERFUL, STABLE AND BETTER PERFORMANCE (even in graphics tests ) THAT I CONGRATULATE EVERY DAY. (the threat is now looming over the desktop imacoooo)
I feel dissatisfied with the poverty and lack of affinity of the article, I do not understand how they allow people with such low foundation to generate essays. Indeed deepin, it is the favorite alternative from its look and feel and I still see no object of having related the previous ones.
Deepin my friend, Take the time to review that distro. It should be the first on your list!
A GNU / Linux distribution that does not carry the indicator-appmenu is not an option for an Osx user because they would miss the menus above.
