Tiny Core Linux 6.4

TinyCore

Tiny Core Linux has released a new version, version 6.4 that includes some minor changes in this very low-resource distribution.

For a few days, we have a new stable version of this small operating system, version 6.4 of Tiny Core Linux is now available for download.

If you do not know it, I will tell you that Tiny Core Linux is one of the lightest GNU / Linux distributions that exist, this distribution focuses on offering the bare minimum to run a computer, in order to consume practically ridiculous resources but allow you to do basic tasks, something perfect to revive those old computers that you have laughing at home.

Just a few days ago a candidate version of this distribution was released, but the developers have surprised us getting the stable version so fast of Tiny Core Linux 6.4.

The changes that the truth brings that are not a big deal, we have some minor changes in the code and in aesthetics, if you want to see the concrete changes you have it in this link.

This distribution is recommended for computers with very low resources, the truth is that although it brings just enough things like an internet browser, a word processor, a file manager and little else, it is one of the best ways to recover that old computer from ago. 15 years with Pentium III and 64 megabytes of RAM, since Tiny Core Linux has as minimum requirements 32 megabytes of RAM and a 100 Mhz processor.

To download it, we will go to the official page, where we can choose between Core, Tiny Core and CorePlus versions for both 32 and 64 BitThe Core version occupies only 10 megabytes since it only brings a command interface so that you can manually add only what you want, the Tiny Core version is like the Core but adding a graphical interface of little complexity, which gives a total weight of 15 megabytes. Finally, the CorePlus brings the graphical interface along with keyboard and language configurations, some applications and alternative managers, with a total weight of 86 megabytes.

I can tell you that it flies. We could say that with what it brings it would fly to the microwave but, put a win 98 on that old computer for example, how long would it take to stop filling with garbage and even being totally out of date it would be a martyrdom to enter the internet regularly. Anyway, I'm going to try it. One question is there any way to install it? For my old portable gadget it would be a scandal. Greetings and see you soon.
