Thrive: the video game has a new release and news

Thrive

Thrive It is a fairly genuine video game title that now has a new release. Surely it reminds you in part of Spore, a very popular title in which the life and evolution of species are simulated from the most primitive stages to the colonization of galaxies.

Well, Thrive is also very similar, but it is a species evolution simulator free and open source. It has support for GNU / Linux distributions, which is great news for Linux users who have always wanted to play something similar to Spore (available for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Nintendo DS) but from the penguin platform.

With the arrival of Thrive 0.5.5 It has greatly improved the approach it had before, in addition to fixing major bugs that were present in previous versions. That means there won't be any great features, functions or new content, but this update will make the game work much better and the user experience will be improved, which is quite interesting.

Some have also been added updates or corrections graphics. Even the rival species engine has also been modified, which will be much smarter and able to adapt to compete much better and be a worthy rival. The generation system has also been reworked.

It is likely that many Thrive users were waiting for another kind of update, like a DLC (free downloadable content), or a great extension for this open source game, but the truth is that its developers have not opted for any of that. They have preferred to improve what already exists so that it will go much finer from now on ...
