We already said it at the end of July: if you bought a PineTab, be patient. At the time, PINE64 informed the community that it was worth delaying shipments because the original software included a driver with little support time left. This time, the problem is another, one of hardware or design: the volume buttons were backwards, so the PineTab will delay its launch for another week.
The truth is that the wait is getting long, but the reasons are strong. The first will allow us to enjoy the driver for the LCD panel for a longer time from the beginning. This second will take place because they had swapped the volume buttons on the flex cable. Although the company recognizes that this could easily be fixed with a software change, they have decided to do things the right way, because what is done well will always be well done.
The PineTab would start shipping around August 28
After the previous delay, the PineTab was supposed to start shipping on August 21, but the problem of the flex cable and the volume buttons will make it just that day when the units arrive at PINE64. The company says that it will ship as soon as possible, but also that there will be another week of delay, so shipments would begin August 28 approximately.
