The new update version of Parrot OS 4.3 arrives

Parrot OS

Lorenzo Faletra has announced the launch of a new version of Parrot, which comes with its new version 4.3.

This version of Parrot OS 4.3 It is a new stable build of the Debian based distribution of the project with a collection of utilities for penetration testing, digital forensics, programming and privacy protection.

Parrot (formerly Parrot Security OS) is a Debian-based Linux distribution.

The distribution is security oriented that includes a collection of public services designed for penetration testing, computer forensics, reverse engineering, hacking, privacy, anonymity, and cryptography.

The product, developed by Frozenbox, comes with MATE as the default desktop environment.

The team plans for Parrot LTS is that they are working on a version of Parrot LTS (a long-term support version) in order to provide long-term reliability to users for all architectures that the distribution supports.

Their plans from the developers are to release the distribution together with the next Debian stable release, which is scheduled for next year.

Thus developers will continue to provide a mobile launch branch for x86_64 architecture where all major version updates will be included for the tools and all these new features will be tested.

We believe that our LTS version should follow the native release process for all tools and system components that we include, and we will not keep outdated and unsupported package versions in the repository, but we are working on new build nodes to provide updated backports for All supported software.

About Parrot OS 4.3

This version provides the latest Debian Testing updates and many improvements to the sandbox system, actually both firejail and apparmor received significant updates, and now the whole system is smoother, more secure and more reliable.

Of course, Parrot 4.3 is not yet LTS, but it was developed as an intermediate step towards the ultimate goal they plan to achieve in the coming summer.

In order to download this new version of the distribution You can go directly to the official website of the project where you can find the system image in its download section.

The link is this.

You can save the image with the help of Etcher on a USB.

On the other hand yeah You already have a version of Parrot OS from branch 4.x, you can update your system without having to reinstall it on your computer.

To do this you simply have to open a terminal and in it execute the following commands:

sudo full-upgrade

Or you can use these:

sudo apt update

sudo apt full-upgrade

This process will take a little time since you have to download all the packages first and then update them. So you can take a moment to relax.

At the end of the process, you just have to restart your computer so that all the changes are saved and you can start your system with all the updated packages and the new Linux Kernel of this version of Parrot OS 4.3.
