Yesterday the development team in charge of the KaOS operating system announced through an official statement through the project website a new version of the system, reaching its version KaOS 2018.06.
This new version of KaOS comes with various bug fixes and fixes As for its previous version, this new version also includes the KDE Plasma version 5.13 and many more.
For those who do not know this Linux distribution I can tell you that Kaos is a standalone rolling release distribution, which uses the KDE desktop with the Pacman package manager the same one used by Arch Linux.
So they should not be confused, KaOS is not a derivative of Arch Linux, since although it was inspired by Arch Linux, over time, developers create their own packages which are available in internal repositories.
KaOS is updated under Rolling Release, a new version is released every two months available from the terminal or an ISO image. Packaging is managed by the team itself, only for stable versions.
As a main highlight, this distribution features the latest version of the KDE desktop, the Calligra office suite, and other popular software applications that use the Qt toolkit.

About KDE Plasma 5.13
Among the novelties that we can find in the inclusion of the version of the KDE Plasma 5.13 desktop environment include.
La optimization of initialization and minimization of memory usage, providing faster uptime for the desktop, better runtime performance, and less memory consumption.
Our System settings with KDE's Kirigami framework give pages a new look. KWin has had much better effects for blurring and working area shifting.
Wayland's work continued, the use of high-priority EGL contexts and initial support for screencasts and desktop sharing. Plus a tech sample of the global GTK menu integration.
This ISO has a complete reformulation of the Midna theme for 2018. About 2.500 new icons in use, SDDM access theme was rewritten.
New tool to burn ISO images
KaOS too includes a specific tool to burn ISOs to a USB memory. IsoWriter not only records to USB, but also provides the option to recover your USB stick after using it with an ISO, something that a normal copy with dd the previous Imagewriter did not do.
New in this version is the ability to verify the integrity of what is recorded on the USB memory by comparing it with the downloaded ISO.
This can also be done in Dolphin, by right-clicking on the ISO file, and selecting Actions and then Verify ISO Write.
Squids updated to version 3.2
The CMost notable changes and additions are:
Service GeoIP provided by FreeGeoIP.net is closing so the development team of KaOS has switched to using ipapi.co
UI annoyances in the partitioning module were fixed; the mount point selector is now more obvious when no mount point has been chosen, and the mount point and flags are preserved when (re) editing partitions.
