The new Bing is now available to everyone without a waiting list… or almost

New Bing

Microsoft steps on the accelerator. While Google presents tools that will help us manage its applications such as Gmail and Apple has reared its head a bit saying that they are doing weekly tests to improve (and perhaps almost completely replace) Siri, Microsoft not only presented its new bing weeks ago; now it says it's open to everyone with no waiting lists. But, as a Linux user and not an Edge user, I think it's a half-truth.

It is true that when entering bing.com and to search I have seen what you have in the header capture, but little else. What has surprised me has been the speed with which it has answered me that the library I am looking for is Pillow, or perhaps it has had that sensation of speed due to a placebo issue that has contrasted with how slow its ChatGPT has responded to me. And once I have looked at the chat, I have realized that not everything is available to everyone.

New Bing available, but not your chat

Although I am logged in with my Microsoft account and nothing about waiting lists appears to me anymore (it does appear if I'm not inside), we can't chat with ChatGPT from the new Bing, or not at the time I start writing this article. If we click on "Let's chat", we will see an image like the following:

chat unavailable

There is talk in different media, and there are users reporting the same thing, that the new Bing is now available to everyone, but it doesn't seem so to me. Although it is true that the interface has changed, the previous image is a complete slam. It is probably a bug or they are gradually releasing the possibility, but right now I am between the interface and use of the new Bing and the old message that tells me that I cannot chat.

In any case, it should be a matter of hours. And if everything works as those who have tried it thoroughly comment, Google may have a serious problem. Microsoft knows this, and that's why it's taking big, fast steps.
