The 10 questions of the TAG

What inspires you to create Linux content?

Some time ago I coined a phrase for my Twitter profile "Real People Solving Real Problems Using Linux and Free Software". I don't like to write content like "free alternatives to..." or why free software is morally superior to proprietary software. I think we have tools good enough to teach their use in everyday situations.

How have you promoted the use of GNUlinux?

I have not done it in the sense that I do not go out to preach to the infidels in order to convert them to the true faith. If when someone is curious or needs help with a topic related to GNU/Linux I try to answer the best I can.

What GNU/Linux Distro do you like the most?

I liked the LinuxBlogger TAG: the first version of Ubuntu brought by Unity, in its original conception was a very interesting desk. KDE Neon seems to me to be a very good distribution, it is what Kubuntu should be. Manjaro is always on the bench, but at the moment I'm with Ubuntu Studio, which has everything I need since it moved to KDE.

What good memory do you have related to GNU/Linux?

In the last few years Mr. Murphy has taken a heavy toll on my computers and I've had to resort to old equipment borrowed from my friends. Fortunately, there were Linux distributions that allowed me to use them to continue working.

5 Programs that nowadays cannot be missing in a GNU/Linux Distro?

  1. Caliber.
  2. VLC.
  3. Brave
  4. KDEConnect.
  5. Obs Studio.

If you could change something for the general good of the community, what would it be?

I would like a change of focus to one focused on the fine userToday, the programmers are still at the top of the pyramid and most of the efforts are directed towards objectives that do not contribute anything to the end user. The new WhatsApp could very well be a privacy-friendly open source project if there were a change in mindset.

What top 10 Spanish-speaking LinuxTubers channels do you recommend to learn?

Honestly, I can't stand video tutorialsThat's why I couldn't recommend any. Go to the article by José Albert who compiled several. They can also make their own recommendations in the comment form.

Aside from GNU/Linux, what other IT content do you like to produce and consume?

I like to write about digital marketing, technology in general, and technology policy. I like to read about technology, history and police literature.

What funny anecdote, related to GNU/Linux, can you tell?

I once spent 6 hours Googling and typing in commands to get an external drive to work. I finally figured out that the two inputs and two usb cables weren't to prevent breakage or loss, they both needed to be connected.

What advice would you give to someone who writes content about GNU/Linux?

FORGET ABOUT THE B… SEO!! If your content is interesting and helps the user, they will find you. You write for humans, not for the Google algorithm.

LinuxBlogger invited to continue with the TAG

As I said, I would like my fellow bloggers to join in, but if I have to choose someone from another blog, I'll pass the torch to @Belinuxo
