The ISO of Manjaro 21.2 Qo'nos is now available, with Linux 5.15 LTS, among other novelties

manjaro 21.2

It was days ago that it was available for existing installations, but now it is also available in the form of a new ISO. For a few hours now you can download manjaro 21.2, a new installment of this Arch Linux-based distribution that has been called Qo'nos. Its news are already available in the Manjaro 2021-12-16 that I arrive today just a week ago, and among them the kernel updates and the different graphical environments stand out.

Not yet marked as "longterm" in The Linux Kernel Archives, but this ISO already comes with Linux 5.15. It is said that they will label it as LTS at any time, but the support it will receive will not be as long as that of the previous Long Term Support version, that is, Linux 5.10. In any case, the new DVD image features the latest version of the Linux kernel with various point fixes.

Manjaro 21.2 includes updated versions of the graphical environments

Here at the release note, or more specifically in the forum thread of the project opened for the occasion, the Linux 5.15 kernel and changes in the graphical environments stand out more, especially the three official ones (Xfce, Plasma and GNOME), but last day 16 they contributed something more of information, like that They have greatly improved the Breath theme in Plasma, that the KDE Gear 21.12 suite of applications has been included or that LibreOffice was re-updated to versions 7.1.8 (still) and 7.2.4 (fresh) to fix a major security flaw. They also mentioned that Deepin (DE) had received some updates.

Manjaro 21.2.0 Qo'nos It is now available to download from download page of the project in the Xfce, KDE, and GNOME editions. Community editions are yet to be updated. It is still curious that for several days Qo'nos could be downloaded from the Manjaro page, but it was available as a Release Candidate. In any case, the new image is already available, and it is as a stable version.
