Tails 5.0 has arrived based on Debian 11 and Kleopatra, among other new features

Tails 5.0

Tras v4.28 which arrived less than a month ago, we already have a new version of this operating system destined for anonymity. On this occasion, what has been available for a few hours is Tails 5.0, the first installment to be based on Debian 11 Bullseye. The latest version of the system on which others as popular as Ubuntu are based arrived last August, and among its novelties we had the kernel uploaded to Linux 5.10, at that time the latest LTS.

But it is based on Debian 11 it is only one of its striking points. Among others that do not draw so much attention, we have that they now use Kleopatra as a new utility to replace OpenPGP, also known as Seahorse, to manage passwords. The reason for this change is that OpenPGP is no longer under active development, so it was difficult to maintain it in Tails 5.0 and future versions.
