Steam Play gets two new updates with 4.2-3 and 3.16-9

Steam Play window

Valve and CodeWeavers are working hard to further improve Linux integration and its products. We have already announced a new update to the Steam Client. Now also Steam Play has been updated with two new versions in its portfolio. On the one hand we have the old Proton series that has been updated with version 3.16-9 that includes a large number of minor changes, such as an update for DXVK to version 1.0.2, correction of some bugs with certain video games that produced errors or freezing of the software, bugs related to xaudio2, winhttp, etc.

On the other hand we have Proton 4.2-3, which is also available from now on to enjoy the changes. In this case it is a few changes, a handful of them, but each of those changes is important. One of the novelties is the inclusion of wine-mono, and we will see how some new games will become playable with this new update. Games that could not be used before, such as based on XNA, Unreal Engine 3, etc.

On top of that, they have been added some more titles that before could not be used with Steam Play and now it will be possible with the new version. For example, you now have NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja, STORM 4, Evochron Mercenary, as well as updates for Warframe, etc. available. Age of Empires II HD has fixed some minor issues with it. This all sounds interesting.

We also have in Proton 4.2-3 the new project update DXVK to 1.0.3 and FAudio It has also been updated to 19.04-13-ge8c0855. Updates that affect the graphics and sound system respectively. The changelog is much more extensive and we have some other changes. We hope this continues, since Steam Play is bringing titles to Linux that were not natively for our platform and that is a great barrier broken down.
