Spitfire Manjaro Special Edition, the first laptop for Manjaro

Spitfire Manjaro Special Edition

Many distributions are obtaining or developing their own hardware. The first of these was Ubuntu, which in collaboration with Dell launched an ultrabook optimized for distribution. Later it was Linux Mint with its mintbox, a model that even the great Google has copied. System 76 has followed this trail and you have created your own distribution for your teams and now, the turn is for Manjaro.

The popular distribution, Manjaro Linux has worked with the British company Station X to launch an ultrabook with Manjaro as the main operating system of this computer. The name of the ultrabook is Spitfire Manjaro Special Edition.

This ultrabook is not a simple laptop that has been installed by Manjaro or a computer from a company that offers you the possibility of installing Manjaro for 20 pounds less (the company is British), but it is an ultrabook that has been created based on the software of Manjaro, that is, that Spitfire Special Edition has a great optimization of Hardware and Software to offer great performance.

The computer has a latest generation Intel processor, the Intel i7; up to 32 Gb of ram memory, an SSD hard disk of up to 500 Gb; a 13 ″ screen with FullHD resolution and an aluminum casing with an ultra-slim design for better laptop mobility.

The equipment will be commercialized at the end of October for a price close to 1000 eurosA fairly low price if we take into account the price of Dell's ultrabook, but a bit high if we take into account the recent ultrabooks of the Spanish brand Slimbook.

Personally, I believe that this type of hardware is not only necessary but also positive for the various distribution projects; because it not only spreads the distribution but also money is also coming into the project, making it more viable or at least helping the development of these projects. And without a doubt, Spitfire Manjaro Special Edition will bring great income to the project.
