This is OpenMW 0.40.0, the Open Source Morrowind

Surely you remember the famous game The Elders Scrolls 3: Morrowind, one of the most complete games of the sixth generation. Now at last we can play it on Linux thanks to OpenMW 0.40.0, an open source remake of this great game.

Really version 0.40.0 is not the first version of this game, since it has been in development for a long time, releasing new versions from time to time that improve the previous versions. Version 0.40.0 has had about three months of development, in which time to correct and optimize many things with respect to version 0.39.0.

Open MW 0.40.0 has brought improvements to the graphics, and that superfluous animations have been eliminated in order to place more emphasis on the faces of the characters in this game. In addition, a large number of bugs and bugs that appeared in version 0.39.0 have been corrected. You have more details about it in the video at the top of the screen.

Besides the game comes with an editor, called OpenMW-CS, in which we can edit part of the game and create our Morrowind in our own way. OpenMW-CS has also been updated in this update, with the main purpose of fixing bugs.

In short, we have a fully playable open source Morrowind with certain improvements over the original, but without losing the essence. This is great news for all of us who are fans of The Elders Scrolls saga, since we will be able to play one of its best titles on our linux, where we will travel the land of Morrowind in search of adventure.

If we want to re-enjoy what was once one of the best first-person adventure games, OpenMW is the best option to do it, since it is also not only available for Linux, but also Windows users will be able to download it.

If you want to download it to your computer, download the source code or even find the official user manual, go to the OpenMW official page, where you will get download links to all its content.

Great, I am a fan of Oblivion and Skyrim, Morrowind I have not touched it and I was curious about how well they comment on it, I run to the page to see how it goes and if I can also play it on Linux better than better :))

You failed to clarify that the original game is needed, since it is a graphics engine, not a complete game. What a waste.

I realized it too late, but hey, I'll pass Morrowind as a candidate in the upcoming Steam sales.
